About the Doctor
Dr. Shahid Insaf has extensive experience in the practice of Psychiatry and unique expertise in specialized services such as Vagus Nerve stimulation for refractory depression, Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and Psychodynamic psychotherapy. After completing medical school in Odessa, Ukraine (the former USSR), he finished residency training in Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduation, he worked as the Medical director of Area Mental Health Center in Garden City, Kansas for 4 years before moving to Springfield to join St. Johnâ€™s hospital, where he worked for 4 years as a Staff Psychiatrist and the Director of the Depression Clinic and ECT services.
In November 2009, Dr. Insaf founded his own Private Practice, The EmoLogic Clinic. It is currently the only Private Practice Psychiatric Services Clinic in Branson, MO. He established a second office in Springfield, MO on February 6th, 2012. Dr. Mark Stewart came on board in November 2013 and Paula Wiesehan, FNP, P-MHNP joined EmoLogic Clinic in March 2014.
Over fifteen years, Dr. Insaf has been recognized five times by the Consumersâ€™ Research council of America as one of Americaâ€™s Top Psychiatrists. He was honored with a Patientâ€™s Choice Award in 2012 and has been a recipient of the Physicianâ€™s Recognition Award in 2004 and Physicianâ€™s Recognition Award with Commendation in 2007 and 2013. He was also picked by ThreeBestRated.com as one of the top 3 psychiatrists in Springfield. He has presented numerous lectures to Physicians and other health care professionals, covering various topics such as Sleep disorders, Psychopharmacology, ECT, Psychotherapy, Brain SPECT imaging, Brain-friendly nutrition, Psychiatric Genetics and the Diagnosis and Treatment of complicated Neuropsychiatric conditions.
Dr. Insaf is also a talented author, story teller and poet. He recently published his first thriller/psychological drama novel called ‘3 Tales of Vengeance‘.
